We take enormous pride in Abhijit Vinayak Banerjee being awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics 2019. An alumnus of 1978-81, Economics, he is the 2nd Indian recipient of the coveted award after Prof. Amartya Sen, both students of Presidency College, now a University. We heartily congratulate him and Prof. Esther Duflo, his co-awardee and wife.
