KOLKATA: The city will have its first inter-college literary meet this week. ‘Incarnadine 2014’, presented by The Times of India and the Presidency University Literary Society, will flag off on December 16.

The three-day meet features a creative writing competition, a role-playing game session, film screenings and a comedy show titled “The Great Indian Chamcha”, apart from a host of other sections. It also includes a Global Shakespeare Conference to be held on the first day of the meet.

With ‘renaissance’ as its theme, the fest will be a literary one with a fair dose of fun and entertainment, according to a member of the Presidency Literary Society. “We will have scholars from abroad to address the Global Shakespeare Conference. Author Amit Chaudhuri will be speaking as a guest lecturer. But then we will have a series of fun elements like the quiz, one-act plays, print ad-making competition and treasure hunt. This is probably the first literary meet in Kolkata that will have renaissance as its theme,” said Sreya Mallika Datta, president of the Society.

One of the main attractions of the literary fest will be ‘The Great Indian Chamcha’, a comedy show presented by The Times of India on December 18. It will feature ‘Comedified’, a show that celebrates the spirit of humour in literature. It will be presented by Anirban Dasgupta, Sourav Ghosh, Yashoroop Dey and Saurav Goyal. The
fest concludes with a closing ceremony.
